Events that missed the April Flyer!

Please submit calendar items to the SFS Flyer no later than the 15th of the previous month. (The next deadline is April 15th, for the May issue) We would love to help you publicize your folk & traditional music, dance, and other arts events in the Seattle metropolitan area, or that are available online! Here are a few items that missed being included in the latest issue. We will attempt to additional items of interest for April as the month goes on.

April 8, 7pm – DANCE FROM HOME WITH THE RACCOON CARNIVAL – Dance or play along or just enjoy the music! (online, registration needed, free with donations asked for the Phinney Neighborhood Center): Gather online April 8th at 7pm for a night of music, community, and online contra dancing to benefit the Phinney Neighborhood Association! With a dozen-ish members in the band we can’t do a livestream, so instead we’ve spent months using a collaborative video app to record fiddles, guitars, banjos and bass, all one person at a time. The delightful Eric Curl will guide you through the dances, and you can download our tune book to play along at home! Not a dancer or musician (yet)? Feel free to come just to listen! Sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/RaccoonCarnivalDance2022
More info, and download the tunes if you want to play along here: https://www.sarahcomer.com/dance-from-home/
Free to attend, though donations for PNA encouraged and appreciated!PNA has been serving hot meals, helping seniors with pharmacy and grocery runs, and providing opportunities to keep the community connected throughout the pandemic. We’d like to help keep the good work going by directing all donations for this event to PNA.
