The Northwest Folklife Festival is a blissful Seattle event featuring thousands of artists on over twenty stages sharing their traditions through music and dance performances, exhibits, demonstrations, and workshops. Folklife is held over the Memorial Day holiday weekend at Seattle Center. The SFS is proud to have been one of the founders of Folklife thirty years ago. (Note that Folklife has long been split off from SFS, and it will do you no good to send Folklife email to SFS.)

Victory Music is a non profit organization for local musicians. The Victory Music Review is published monthly. Puget Sound Guitar Workshop provides inspiration and instruction for acoustic guitarists at all levels of skill. A week in the woods surrounded by enthusiastic musicians and outstanding teachers will help you to make strong, satisfying music now. Wintergrass is a huge four-day bluegrass festival held every Februar, formerly in Tacoma, now in Bellevue. Come hear the finest bluegrass artists in the nation, plus workshops, and more. The Pacific Northwest Folklore Society  hosts concerts and a monthly session at the Couth Buzzard Bookstore  and publishes the on-line newsletter the NW Hoot .   Smithsonian Folkways supports SFS. The excellent work on folklore by the Smithsonian is worth having a look at.
