Events that missed the September Flyer

Emerald City Contra Dance

The Emerald City Contra Dance is starting up again September 9, after a long hiatus due to COVID. Information about the bands arrived too late to be included in the September SFS Flyer.
Friday, September 9: Greg Frock (Baltimore) w/ Ryan McKasson and Anita Anderson. Come join the fun when fiddler Ryan McKasson (Syncopaths, Kalos, Contra Sutra) and pianist Anita Anderson (End Effects, Roguery, Spin) welcome caller Greg Frock from Baltimore. Greg actively seeks out new, interesting, and accessible dances from all over the country, and bands (and crowds!) love him and his clear calling style. He hasn’t been in the PNW for a few years, and it’s about time he returned. Ryan’s special feeling for Scottish and Cape Breton tunes gets good support from Anita’s “forthright and driving underpinnings,” as Warren Argo used to say, and together the dance package will keep you all moving.

Friday, September 16: Dale Russ (fiddle) and Mike Saunders (guitar). A master Irish fiddler teams up with a guitar player that has mastered every style.
Friday, September 23: SonoOnos. Sono Hashisaki, Olga Hauptmann & Jay Finkelstein, fiddles & guitar

Friday, September 30: Larry Unger and Audrey Knuth
