Corona Virus Information

17-Mar-2020

A few words about our shows and the COVID-19 outbreak which is very much in the news these days:

We are ever grateful for our wonderful audiences, participants, volunteers and performers who we put together in our dance and concert activities. Being  mindful of the present public health crisis in our community, we don’t want to endanger the health of either. We also are mindful of our touring performers who depend on live shows for their livelihoods.

We are deciding on continuing our shows and dances on an event by event basis, given public guidelines.

In the event a show is canceled, we will post on our website: www.seafolklore.org, attempt to contact advance ticket holders by phone or email, place notices on the entry doors to the Phinney Center Community Hall, and fully refund your ticket purchases for the canceled show.  You may also have the option of credit to another concert or donating the money to the performers.

For shows we decide to go forward: We urge that if you are sick or have reason to suspect you’ve been in close contact with someone who is ill or suspected of being ill with COVID19, please stay home. If you are in one of the high risk groups, please stay home. If you feel uneasy about congregating in public and endangering yourself, please stay home.  If you’ve paid for a show in advance and are staying home, we’ll offer you a ticket to a future show at no charge — email us at concerts@seafolklore.org or leave a message at (206) 923-8923. If we go forward with a show, we may create livestreams that you can watch and enjoy the performance at home — please consider making a donation to the artists through this donate link.

We will be monitoring the CDC, Washington State, King County, and Seattle City websites for public health information and urge you to do the same.

Our venue for our concerts also has a web page with their response information and protocols.
