SFS SPONSORS A FREE AFTERNOON OUTDOOR CONCERT with the NEON BRASS PARTY BAND and AGAB (Assigned Gay At Band) to cap off the PhinneyWood Rainbow Hop and Phinney Center Pride Party! Plan to join us from 1:30 to 2:30 at the Phinney Center upper lot for a closing celebration with room to dance! The Neon Brass Party Band believes in creating space in the world to celebrate our individuality together, and finds its groove in styles from Latin to funk and hip-hop. AGAB is “a queer joy rebellion playing brass bangers for the gays and theys of every generation.” Both bands are fun, exuberant and positive.
The Rainbow Hop and Phinnney Center Activities start at 10am; all activities are listed at phinneycenter.org/events/Rainbow-hop.
The PNA has a rich 40-year history of strengthening a sense of belonging in our community, which is illustrated by one of their signature events: Rainbow Hop, now in its 13th year!
Families can travel the Rainbow Hop route between 87th and 67th on Greenwood Avenue and take part in dozens of Pride-centric activities and crafts. Participating businesses and organizations will stamp the Rainbow Hop map as you participate throughout the route. Kids with at least 6 stamps can exchange their maps for a free Woodland Park Zoo ticket in front of HomeStreet Bank between 12:30 and 1:30pm (look for the guy in the rainbow cowboy hat). The Rainbow Hop map and activity list is available as a pdf, and copies can be picked up at the Phinney Center Blue Building starting May 27th.
The 3rd Annual PNA Phinney Center Pride Party celebration will be happening June 7th along with Rainbow Hop!
