Friday, November 28th: The Whateverly Brothers celebrate Black Friday by trotting out our annual “A Very Whateverly Advent, Solstice, Hanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, Twelfthnight, etc” Show. We’ll also trot out our new brother, Bill Murlin, known better in Portland, but VERY welcome to Seattle. Expect the usual careening around styles, too many instruments, and being put in harmony’s way. At West Seattle’s lovely little C&P COFFEE HOUSE, 5612 California Ave SW, Seattle, sort of. 6-8 PM. No cover, but Phil the tip jar awaits your attention.
Saturday, November 29th: The WHATEVERLY BROTHERS make their annual Pilgrimage to EGAN’S BALLARD JAM HOUSE, 1707 NW Market St, Seattle, to present “A Very Whateverly Advent, Solstice, Hanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, Twelfthnight, etc.” It’s the 7 PM dinner set, so arrive hungry. Save room for dessert; the pastry case is scary good. We will be in TRIO form, having added a new brother (see November 28 listing). Expect the usual careening around styles, too many instruments, and being put in harmony’s way. To fight inflation, we’ll keep the cover charge at previous years’ $15 per humanoid.
Saturday, December 6th: Maritime Folknet Presents our annual Yule_Tide Concert , with plenty of tide to go with the Yule. Performers will include Flip Breskin and Zeke Hoskin, whimsically clever and caring songwrights, singers and instrumentalists from Bellingham. Zeke has a rowing machine chantey we all can’t wait to hear. Next come the vocal octet Gather Round, celebrators of awesome harmonies and sundry stylings. Rounding out the evening will be Portland’s engaging duo Shanghaied on the Willamette, with songs plundered from land and sea and a boatload of instruments for playing them. Hosted by Captain Dano Quinn and Dan Roberts at Woodland Park United Methodist Church, corner of N 78th Street and Greenwood Ave. in Seattle. 7:30 PM – food, drink, and artists’ merch available for purchase. Ticket info at maritimefolknet.org/events.
