SFS is proud to be presenting the amazingly talented and high energy Scottish band the Tannahill Weavers in concert Sat Oct 24th, 7pm.

The Tannahills are Scottish Trad Music Hall of Fame Inductees, and are considered national treasures. They are one of Scotland’s premier traditional bands, and have received worldwide acclaim for their exuberant performances and outstanding recording efforts. They were the first traditional band to add the iconic bagpipes to their repertoire.

They have won awards such as the Scotstar award for the Best Folk Record of the Year, the Indie Awards for Celtic album of the Year;  and were nominated for Folk Band of the Year in 2019 at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. the Tannahills have also appeared at the cream of the crop Celtic festivals around the world, such as the Lorient Interceltique Festival in France; Celtic Connections in Scotland; Dublin OH Irish Fest in the US; The Cambridge Folk Festival in England; the Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada; and the Tonder Festival in Denmark.

Even with all that going for them, they are still also lauded by folks such as Garrison Keillor Of Prairie Home Companion Fame – “these guys are heroes every time they go on tour in the states.”

Band members Phil, Roy, Alistair, and Kenny are working hard to ensure that the concert will be one of their best yet!

“…their great humor and superb musicianship make them on of the finest bands on the circuit.” – Rogue Folk Review

“…the Tannies are the best that Scotland can aspire to (and believe me, that is THE BEST).” – The Living Tradition
